EAS DOES IT FOR WIGAN ATHLETIC

Latics made an important transfer window signing last month when it agreed a deal with EAS as its preferred sports nutrition supplier.

As the team fights hard to progress through its second season in the Premiership, it hopes that by boosting the players' nutrition, it can also boost their training, performance and recovery. The intake of the correct type of nutrition plays an ever-increasing part in athletes' ability to compete at the highest level and the range of EAS products are proven in making a significant contribution to boosting fitness levels.

The Latics squad is using a number of products from the EAS Myoplex range of drinks and nutrition bars that comprise high-grade carbohydrates and proteins enriched with up to 24 vitamins and minerals.

Myoplex promotes energy levels, muscle growth and a healthy immune system. It also helps to boost and stabilise the metabolism and guard against any nutritional deficiencies brought on by tough training sessions.

"Our players face a gruelling training and match schedule and without the right nutrition they can't be expected to reach their potential," says Latics Fitness Conditioner Joey Gallanagh. "We are using the EAS supplements to support the team's training, match performance and post-match recovery. At this stage of the season there is virtually no respite: we go straight from training to a match and then resume training with no break. We're looking to EAS to give us the edge."

All the Wigan Athletic players take one or more of the EAS Myoplex products on a regular basis, choosing the supplements that best suit their body's needs.
